In addition to being fragile and 900lbs on average, they are very bulky and hard to maneuver. Of all the items that we move, pool tables have the highest risk of damage if you do not have the right equipment. We are experts when it comes to moving pool tables.

A lot goes into moving a pool table. First, to answer a question that you are most likely wondering... Yes! a pool table can be moved in one piece BUT it depends on the table, size, access (at both pick up and drop off locations) and stairs. It some cases, even with stairs involved, we can move the pool talbe in 1 piece. However, we determine that in a case by case basis. We have the right equipment required to move a pool table safely in 1 piece.
How to move a pool table?
When moving a pool table in 1 piece is not possible, it will need to be taken apart. This is a very time consumbing process that requires precisiion and skill. The felt must be removed, this means removing about 200 stables, one staple at a time. The bumpers are also removed and padded for protection.

The slates will then need to be removed, but not before removing the bit screwns holding the slates to the wood frame. We then remove the quick dry cement or bee's wax (whichever the previous mover used). And only then do we remove the slates and carry them one by one. All slates are padded before being loaded. This is due to how fragile slates can be. Sure, they are ery very heavy but also very easy to crack and chip.
Moving a pool table requires specialized moving equipment. You won't find this at your local home depot. This equipment is made to handle the weight of a 1200lbs pool table with ease. Our movers have a lot of experience moving pool tables in 1 piece and we have the right vehicles for the job.

As you can see in this picture, a proper pool table moving dolly needs to be able to balance the table on it's own.
